FILMMAKERS MENAGH & O’SCANLON PREMIERE TRAILER FOR SHORT THRILLER VICTIM NO. 6
COVID and the subsequent lockdowns have been difficult for countless people and businesses for a myriad of reasons. And, without venues for live performances and screenings, the arts were also hit extremely hard. Film Festivals shuttered or went online, theaters closed, and Broadway went dark. This left a huge void for both the spectators and the artists. Thankfully, much like the first daffodils poking through the ground after a long winter, we are starting to once more see signs of life in the arts community.
Nancy Menagh and Heather Brittain O’Scanlon announced today that they are finally kicking off the festival run for their latest film, “Victim No. 6”, beginning with the Beaufort International Film Festival in South Carolina this February, where the film has been selected as a finalist.
“Victim No. 6”, written and directed by Nancy Menagh (“As It Seems”), is co-produced by Menagh and O’Scanlon under their production companies, Black Dog Pictures and SOS Productions, respectively. The film stars O’Scanlon (“Blue Bloods”, “House Broken”) along with Russ Russo (“Catch Hell”, “Act of War”). “Victim No. 6” is set in 1975 New York City, where a fun-loving woman out at her local bar invites a handsome stranger back to her place, despite knowing there’s a serial killer on the loose.
Menagh and O’Scanlon first teamed up on the award-winning film “As It Seems”, which was also written and directed by Menagh and starred O’Scanlon. Menagh said, “It was great to team up with Heather on another period piece. We had a lot of fun working with the unique vibe of the 1970’s, which I think shines through in the film.”
O’Scanlon concluded by saying “It feels so satisfying to soon be able to share this film with audiences. As difficult as this past year has been for us all, I feel like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I’m thankful”.
